Welcome!

Welcome!

After taking a year off from really working towards financial freedom, I'm ready to get back on the wagon and finish it off!

Each Friday I will post about how we are saving for our Emergency Fund ($1000) and then starting to pay off the non-mortgage debt we have.  We want our personal home mortgage (we also own a duplex) paid off in about 10 years, and as of right now I will not be posting about that balance until everything else is paid off.

During the week, watch for posts on how we are saving money and putting that towards our debt.  We have done this journey a few times before, but never fully finished.  Nearly 6 years ago I was pregnant with our third child, and my husband was laid off.  This made us realize how we were truly living pay check to pay check and had nothing to fall back on.  The next 3 years we added a fourth child and paid off nearly $30,000 in personal debt and students loans, even with another layoff!  The last year, we haven't been paying off our debt, and with an unexpected dental bill (over $5000), we are back to square one and ready to get rid of it all for good!
